NEVADA 2009 Record: 0-2 Last week: L 35-20 @ Colorado State (3-0) This week: Mizzou Nevada’s woes continued in Fort Collins as the Wolf Pack turned the ball over an unbelievable five times.  The WAC preseason offensive player of the year, QB Colin “Bo” Kaepernick, completely shat on himself again throwing two interceptions and losing a fumble.  The Wolf

The End of Tight End University?

Posted by Boo Radley on September 23rd, 2009 under Football

It has been quite the week for the tight end position for current and former MU players. Martin Rucker was released by a team that might be one of the worst in the NFL. Chase Coffman has not suited up for the Cincinnati Bengals, and based upon what I saw on Hard Knocks, he might able to challenge Tommy Saunders in a push up contest really soon. What the hell? I figured out of the guys

NFL Pre-Camps

Posted by Phenomenal Smith on July 18th, 2009 under Football

NFL fans are chomping at the bit to get started, so there's been some random writings from around the nation on what the preseason camps will bring.  Here's a sampling of what people are saying about our Tigers. Chase Daniel. Any time a Redskins quarterback takes the field, whether it’s training camp or game, he is sure to draw plenty of attention. Daniel, an undrafted rookie, is fourth

Predictions on 2009 Draftees NFL success

Posted by Gene Claude on May 13th, 2009 under Football

Just for fun, so I can be mocked mercilessly in a few years, here are my predictions of NFL success for the 2009 Tiger NFL draft class: 1. Chase Coffman. I guess it is just a feeling, but Coffman's competitive fire and "difference-ness" make him my choice for the 2009 draftee most likely to have sustained NFL success. Coffman can do things, namely, catch passes while blanketed by defenders, that is unusual and very valuable in

Coffman in Cincy

Posted by Phenomenal Smith on April 29th, 2009 under

Chase Coffman was the third round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals, not a good team, but a team with a really good QB and some playmakers and a crazy guy who can't say "85" in Spanish.   Already Chase Coffman leads the team in fewest police reports and TROs filed against him, so that's something. Coffman was one of my favorite two or three Tigers for the last few years.  I miss him immensely.  I am bummed

The Curious Case of Chase Daniel (MU-Northwestern PM)

Posted by Phenomenal Smith on December 30th, 2008 under Football

It's the end of an era and I feel fine.  Tigers win, which is all that really matters.  Winning ugly is still winning.  Losing to that Northwestern team would have been the pinnacle of an embarrassing season where Mizzou adorned preseason mags as a fave for the national championship.  Seriously, those Wildcats aren't that much better than the Big 12's Wildcats.  Losing would have been devastating - to me anyway.  It would have ruined me.  I would

Coffman Wins Mackey

Posted by Phenomenal Smith on December 12th, 2008 under Football

Coffman was named the top tight end in the country last night, taking home the Mackey Award.  I have written many a glowing thing about Chase Coffman on these pages and am indescribably pumped for him for pulling down a major award.

Coffman came to us as the number 9 TE recruit in the country, as per Scout.com.  He never failed to thrill

Chase for Heisman

Not that one!  Two more ridiculous catches by Coffman this week.  He's a human highlight reel.  He will be missed next year. How many of Daniel's completions and/or TDs have been entirely because Coffman is a freak? The number is not insignficant. Enjoy! The First One The Second One Bonus.  Once
