KSU Post Mortem: F’n UGLY

Posted by Boo Radley on March 1st, 2010 under Basketball

That was ugly. I was really at a loss for words watching that game. Not sure I can ever remember watching a basketball game with that much talent on the floor in which it looked liked for the first 20 minutes that no body knew how to make a basket. KU and Kentucky played a game a couple years ago that I thought was the worst big time basketball game I had ever watched, but

KSU II: Same Game, Bigger Stakes

Posted by Boo Radley on February 26th, 2010 under Basketball

If you would have told me that back in January when they first played that these two teams would be meeting the last weekend in Feb for the #2 seed, I would have been pretty surprised. Not that I didn't think that both teams were good teams, but I assumed Texas would be a solid #2 and our biggest fight would be just to get the first round bye. We are still fighting for that

Texas Preview: What will Texas Do?

Posted by Boo Radley on February 17th, 2010 under Basketball

Euclid pretty much outlined what has to be done the next few weeks, and this is clearly a monster game for Conference seeding and NCAA Tourney bids. While I don’t want to jinx it, a win gets us to at least 9-7 in the conference which I think is on the right side of the bubble, but 8-8 is clearly on the bubble. Chet should have more on that soon. So what can we expect

Big XII Bye – Down But Not Out!

Posted by Euclid on February 15th, 2010 under Uncategorized

The Baylor game was very disappointing. Pull out that win and we are in the driver's seat for a bye in the first round of the Big XII tournament. Following the game I figured we had virtually no chance of finishing in the top 4 given our challenging remaining schedule and poor tie-breaker position vis-à-vis Baylor and Texas A&M. But after just a few minutes of homework I have a renewed faith in the Tigers

Baylor Running Diary 2nd Half

Posted by Boo Radley on February 13th, 2010 under Uncategorized

Second Half 19:00  English air ball, but nice rebound by Safford.  4th foul on Lomers 38-35. If Bowers is not on the floor, Safford is our most active player.  Why is Keith Ramsey even playing? 17:00 First bucket by Udoh, but Kimmie answers from downtown.  40-38.  I like the way this half has started.  We are much more aggressive on both ends of the floor. Again, why is Ramsey playing? ON cue, here come Bowers. 15:37 44-42 Baylor.

Baylor Running Diary

Live from Waco, here we go. Brad Sham and Miles Simon onthe call.  Good, new blood plus I love Miles Simon after they beat KU in the tourney and Brad Sham is the Dallas Cowboys announcer which I love as well. 20:00  Bowers  and Denmon not starting.  Dammit.  Against a team like Baylor, I think you need your best offenive team to start. 17:37 Wow Baylor is tall. I don't see many points being scored inside the

This team belongs to Miguel Paul

Posted by Doc Nice on February 11th, 2010 under Uncategorized

Really. Miguel Paul is the face of this team. WAIT. Wait, don't go away. Hear me out. This article isn't really even about Miguel Paul. It's about the character of this team. See, Miguel Paul represents the faceless, selfless player that rotates in and out of this carousel system. Who are you going to remember 10 years from now? There's no Peeler, Stipanovich or Rush on this team. Denmon, English, Taylor?

Texas A&M Postmortem: Pathetic

Posted by Boo Radley on February 4th, 2010 under Uncategorized

That’s a bad loss, for a number of reasons. In a conference that appears to be loaded with eight quality teams, you can’t lose a home game to a team you are fighting for a first round bye in the Big 12 tourney and more importantly an NCAA bid. Just a killer. From tied for second, to fifth just like that. Spots 2-8 are going to change over the next four weeks,

Tigers Sign Three including Point Guard of the Future

Posted by Boo Radley on November 13th, 2009 under Uncategorized

Coach Mike Anderson officially signed three players to play for the Tigers in 2010, including perhaps the point guard of the future. Here is the official release from mutigers.com http://www.mutigers.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/111309aab.html   Now we just need Tony Mitchell and Bradley Beal to sign as well, and things will be rolling under CMA.

Eye on The Cowboys (and Cowgirls)

Posted by JR Slim on October 16th, 2009 under Football

Just hang with me one more week fellow Tiger kool-aid drinkers.  Don't hop off the bandwagon just yet. Our hopes and dreams for a North Division title may be on life-support, but they are still alive.  In fact, if the Tigers and Red Raiders take care of business this weekend, Mizzou will be in the driver's seat once again.  This weekend is huge.  It is enormous.  It is a season-making game at this point.  Have

More On The Blackshirts

Ladies and Gentlemen, my favorite quote ever: "Cosgrove's a very stubborn guy," said Daniel, who threw for 401 yards in a 41-6 Tiger win. "It's always been that way. . . . That's just how he is, that's how they are. They're a bunch of confident guys in what they do, and they felt they had the best chance doing that, so they stuck with it. "You can't just play one defense the whole entire game," Daniel

New Tigers News Site

Posted by Euclid on September 15th, 2009 under Uncategorized

At today's KC Tiger Club meeting Dave Matter told the audience about a new site the Columbia Tribune was launching to focus exclusively on Mizzou sports.  TigerExtra.com Dave billed it as one-stop shopping for all your Mizzou sports news. Dave mentioned it should be up and running later this week or sometime next week but it appears to be fully operational today. Based on my quick perusal it looks like this will include all Dave Matter

At half time of this game I was going to go with a Washington Generals theme for this write up. Then OU showed ten minutes worth of pride in the second half to cut the deficit to ten and now I’m stuck with a Mr.T reference or two from Rocky three. It’s a good sign

UT fan can breathe a deep sigh of relief as the NCAA put a one year hold on what has to be the most hilariously asinine rule proposed by the NCAA in the last 3 months.

    Very well put.

Why doesn’t James just catch that? I don’t understand the need to swat it out of bounds. Sigh. Bill Russell.
