AT’s Blogpoll Entry – Week 7

Posted by Phenomenal Smith on October 21st, 2009 under Football

A couple of our voters called in sick this week, so we’re going with what we got. This has created some odd results. For example, Penn State vaults nine spots after beating Minnesota in snowy Pennsylvania while Iowa only gets boosted two spots after winning on the road in Madison. Batshit crazy stuff going on here at AT. Part of it is the missing voters and part of it is two consecutive losses – our brains are clouded with disappointment and unable to make good college football decisions. I shudder to think what next week’s poll might look like.  In another oddity, Cincinnati beats an undefeated rival on the road and drops three spots.

At least we got Texas Tech right. The Raiders reappear in our poll after dismantling Nebraska in Lincoln. Leach’s boys are making some noise with just two tough road losses. Lubbock must be all a Twitter.

I don’t know about the rest of this list, but I can’t see how Arkansas is not on the list. I know they have 3 losses, but look at who they have lost to. Besides, as the season has been progressing, they have been improving. Their D is night and day compared to where it was just a few weeks ago. Right now, if Arkansas played Texas, I’d put my money on Arkie to pummel the Horns. Arkansas has better talent than Texas on offense, and their D has improved to the point where it probably could, at the very least, slow down UT’s sputtering O. Texas is very lucky that the game against Arkansas was cancelled this year. It’s doubtful the Horns will care to schedule the Pigs anytime soon.
