Toofer Picks – Week 5

Posted by Euclid on October 3rd, 2009 under Football

You are going to have to trust me on this, while not published the toofers have been making weekly picks this season and doing a pretty good job of it.  Through four weeks we have accurately picked 66% of the games against the spread, including an astounding 92% against the spread last week.

Week 5 has a limited slate of games to chose from.

Farmageddon

Four of our pickers this week like Iowa State in the battle for agricultural supremacy and a fifth just figures these to won’t be able to score and likes the under.  I expect we will see a hard fought game with lots of mistakes but the difference will be quarterback play and Coffman won’t be able to match Arnaud.

Arkansas vs. Texas A&M

Jerry hosts his alma mater in the taj mahal.  The oddsmakers must have done something right here because the Toofers are split down the middle on this one.  Arkansas is 1-2 and A&M is 3-0, but the difference is Arkansas has lost to two ranked SEC opponents and A&M has not.

Oklahoma vs. Miami

In the national game of the week we will see if Oklahoma can make a big step back into the national championship race.  This will be a big test for Landry Jones who hasn’t faced the kind of talent the U will bring.  That said, I think Jacory Harris is the QB who is going to be exposed as he faces the toughest defense he will see all season.
