Basketball: Phil Pressey is a Tiger

Multiple sources (espn and Powermizzou) report that high profile Texas prep point guard Phil Pressey committed to the Tigers on an unofficial visit this weekend. Pressey is probably the highest profile national recruit signed by Mike Anderson. He had offers from Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, Florida and a host of others. He is ranked the 54th best player in the 2010 class by Rivals and 31st by espn/Scouts Inc.

Powermizzou has also reported that the Tigers will get a visit from Rickey Scott, a top 100 shooting guard. Mike Anderson has quietly taken his recruiting up a notch or two after last season’s surprise final 8 run. Good to see. It will be fun to see how the departure of Lyons, Carroll and Lawrence affects the team. I think they’ll be an NCAA team for sure, probably top 4 in the league still.
