Chase and Ziggy

From tonight’s Redskins/Steelers game:
| 2-10-PIT 39 | (14:27) 10-C.Daniel sacked at WAS 49 for -12 yards (96-E.Hood). |
| 3-22-WAS 49 | (13:50) (Shotgun) 10-C.Daniel sacked at WAS 49 for 0 yards (96-E.Hood). |
Chase Daniel actually got to play tonight and made the most of it. His final numbers were: 6-8, 58 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INT, and 22 yards rushing. The non-Chase Redskin QBs combined for 9-21, 91 yards, 0 TDs, 2 INTs, and 2 yards rushing.
Ziggy Hood was in on four tackles, including the aforementioned sacks of his pal Chase Daniel. I wonder if there was some Favre/Strahan going on….
The highlights of the game in the Gameday video do not show the sacks or Chase’s 22 yard run, but do show his two TD passes (2:55 and 4:00 of the video).

Theismann’s comment is ridiculous. I’m watching the Alamo Bowl game right now, and it would be much easier to argue that Chase Daniel needed to not throw at all and just let the defense win the game.

After this game I read some threads on a Redskins message board. Most ’skins fans think Chase has a good shot at taking the 3rd spot. The most entertaining part of reading those threads was at least half of the posters called him Chase Daniels.

Chase Daniel’s Redskins are on TV tonight – 8/28. Campbell is playing the entire first half and Chase and Colt are splitting the second half.

I watched the entire second half of a preseason football game for nothing. Chase Daniel didn’t get in – hard to believe there’s really a competition for the third QB spot on the Redskins.

I read after last week that Chase wasn’t going to play this weekend because Campbell was going to play into the 3rd quarter. Chase and Colt will both play in the final preseason game. Colt threw 1TD pass and a 99-yard pick for a TD. Very mixed results so Chase may still have a chance.

I felt bad for Colt. At first he was in with his second team line against the Ravens’ first team defense. He took four sacks but made some pretty passes – that TD pass to Marko Mitchell was beautiful.
I would guess Zorn really wants Colt to beat out Daniel. I still think Daniel’s best shot is the practice squad. And, if he has a good game this week and gets cut, he may latch on to another team’s practice squad.
